We’re looking forward to your visit to The Wren’s Nest. Here are a few things that may help simplify your travel plans, and make your visit to the area and to The Wren’s Nest more enjoyable.
The property is at 2281 Thompson Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37128. Please ensure you enter Road vs. Lane in your GPS; we have both in Murfreesboro. When you arrive on the property, take the gravel drive to the left that runs in front of a horse barn. Within an hour of the event, an attendant will greet you and direct you to a parking spot.
From I-40 E and W, or 65 N, take 840 toward Murfreesboro, then exit at Veterans Parkway and go south. After crossing Hwy 99, you will see the Murfreesboro Fire Department station on your right. Take the next right at Armstrong Valley, and go south to the next intersection. Take a right there on Thompson Road, and continue .9 miles to the property on the left.
From I-24 E and W, and 65 S from the north side of Nashville, take I-24 to the New Salem Hwy exit (exit 80) and go west toward Eagleville, TN. Shortly past the Publix shopping complex, you will approach a white Shell Convenience Center on the left. Take a left just before the Shell station onto Armstrong Valley Road. Continue to the second intersection, and take that right onto Thompson Road, and continue .9 miles to the property on the left.
You are attending a wedding at an outdoor/indoor venue. Please dress appropriately for the weather. The property is designed to integrate historic structures with a very natural setting. Meaning- trails, gravel paths, and old wooden structures, including the upper story of a 100+ year old barn. So, please come prepared to walk in a natural setting, and dance on a floor that has naturally separated over time.
SMOKING AND ALCOHOL:
The Wren’s Nest has approximately 150 people on the grounds at a time, and structures that are made of 100+ year old timbers that are of dry, irreplaceable wood. Therefore, the Wren’s Nest is a no smoking property, and all flames introduced are done by Wren’s Nest staff in safe, controlled manners. Smoking on the property results in the forfeiture of the wedding party’s security deposit. If you need to smoke during an event here, please do so in the confines of your car. Thank you for understanding.
We’re conscious of the burden that you have to yourself and society when leaving an event where alcohol has been served. So, if your wedding party chooses to offer you the option of alcohol, it will be served in moderation by licensed bartenders only. Please do not bring outside alcohol and risk the loss of the wedding party’s security deposit.
The Wren’s Nest is located 38 minutes from downtown Nashville, just outside Murfreesboro- one of the fastest growing towns in America, and home to the largest university in the state. Despite our growth, we are still a smaller, friendly quintessential Tennessee town.
Nashville is home of the Grand Ole Opry, the stunning Opryland Hotel with its massive terrarium that is free to visit, Music Row, the Ryman Auditorium, The Frist Center for the Arts, The Nashville Zoo, LP Field (Home of the Titans), Vanderbilt University, The Parthenon in Centennial Park, and other entertainment options, as well as abundant lodging and shopping options.
Murfreesboro is the home to several historic sites, antiquing, shopping and dining. The majority of the area’s hotels, shopping and dining are in a dense area that is only 8 minutes from The Wren’s Nest. Hotels are available in most price and amenity points, including The Embassy Suites, the Doubletree by Hilton, the Hampton Inn and Suites, Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express, and others, including extended stay options. The Avenue, an outdoor walking mall, is located near the hotel district. The Stones River mall, and multiple large discount, home improvement and grocery stores are in the area as well. The downtown square has multiple boutique shops, coffee houses, and restaurants circling the historic courthouse.
If you have internet availability, yelp.com has very helpful and, what appears to us to be, accurate reviews of local restaurants.
In the event of rain, you may want to have an umbrella handy. However, the entire event can be moved indoors at the wedding party’s choice.
